DESCRIPTION

The Artificers’ Guild is a small engineering company and religious group dedicated to PRE11, which its members call Belphegor.

An eponymous predecessor to the modern Artificers’ Guild was founded in c. 1228 in London, England, where members were known for their creation of automata. The Artificers’ Guild was well-funded due to its noble patronage, but after becoming worshipers of PRE11, the Artificers came under increasing public scrutiny due to their alleged practice of witchcraft.

While the Artificers’ Guild has become defunct several times, it has also been revived each time, and remains active into the present day.

The Artificers have recently begun acting as technology specialists within Oscuro Enterprises, whose employees are willing to work with members of the Artificers’ Guild in spite of their idiosyncrasies due to their skill and efficiency in creating paranormally enhanced technology.

CONTACT PROTOCOL

Members of the Artificers’ Guild are potentially dangerous due to their technological and paranormal abilities, as well as their connections to Oscuro Enterprises, but are not hostile towards the Archive. Additionally, many Archive supplies are purchased from the Artificers’ Guild via Oscuro. As a result, the Artificers’ Guild should be treated with caution and respect.

The date is July 17, 1977. I, Alistair Wakefield of the Crimson Knights, have been tasked with writing our code.

It is a long time coming, isn’t it? There were days even before we were the Crimson Knights, before the idea of knighthood did not even exist, and yet our code has never been written down before today, though it has been branded into our hearts and drawn in the blood of our fallen foes.

  1. Members do not target members. Our links are forged in flame, our oaths written in blood. Violence towards other members of the order or towards their family and loved ones is impermissible.
  2. There is no leaving our order. Renegades are not only threats, but traitors.
  3. Innocents are not to be targeted. We are soldiers, not common criminals. Target only the enemy.
  4. The enemy is everywhere. Trust nobody outside of our order.
  5. We are brothers in arms. Trust your comrades in the order.
  6. Be strategic. We are not mindless brutes. We are human. We are soldiers. We plan, and while we must not hesitate to do what we must, we must not do what will make us fail.
  7. Do not hesitate. Clear eyes and a strong stomach will get you far.
